"Do you sell turnkey buggies?"
Sorry, not at the moment.

"Do you sell parts for your buggies?"
Most custom parts are available for the R15 and above from Mini Buggy Supply. Full details and part numbers are given in each respective build manual.

"How comprehensive are the buggy plans?"
The manual includes absolutely everything you need to build your buggy, from drawings to build a suitable chassis stand, jigs for suspension parts, materials and fastener lists, and a glossary of terms.

"What if I get stuck with something, or hit a problem?"
I'm only as far away as your keyboard, and I'm always glad to help get you going again.

"Do you update the plans?"
I am constantly reviewing and updating components, which are frequently listed in What's New. All current updates are included with each manual purchased.

"Do you sell plans for the yellow buggy I've seen on your site?"
No. That was a custom buggy I built with a TORC Club member.

"What level of skill is required to build the buggy?"
If you haven't welded before, or don't have a  friend with a welder, it may be more difficult. There are welders and fabricators situated all over the place though, so check your local directories for someone nearby.
Here's an example of how your welding should not look like. This wishbone was for a home-built road car in the UK. I don't know if it ever passed SVA.
Apart from welding, all that's required are some tools, a good helping of common sense, and the ability to read and follow instructions.

"What if I've never bent any tube before or cut those tricky looking joints?"
It's not a problem. Check out the Tube Work page.

"I want to build one of your buggies with my son, but he's never driven before. Is it hard to learn to drive?"
It's really very simple. The steering is very direct, and there are normal brake and accelerator pedals (and a clutch pedal if you want one). The gears are sequential, e.g. they are all in a straight line, one after another, just like in Formula One.

"Which is the best engine to use?"
That's a difficult one to answer. A lot depends on how fast you want to go, and how much you want to spend.
The R6 is designed to accommodate the largest permissible engine within TORC regulations, which is 1100cc. My own buggy runs a ZZR1100/ZX11 motor, but a twin cylinder 350cc will still provide huge amounts of fun, but just don't expect it to lift the front wheels off the ground when you stand on the pedal!
The larger buggies will easily accommodate a ZX14 or Hayabusa engine and even some small car engines.

"How much will the buggy cost to build?"
Another tricky question. The cost of bike engines vary widely around the globe, so if we leave that item out of the equation, it makes matters simpler.
The budget minded person could build the R6 or R15 for US$8,000-$10,000, but if all top-shelf items are used, such as lightweight rims, race shocks, stainless rod ends etc, then the cost could easily rise to around US$12,000-US$16,000.

"Where can I race my finished buggy?"
I'm not sure of each and every area, but I know within Australia, there is the Club I race in, TORC, and there is talk of another club being formed in Queensland. Some individuals compete in motorkhanas and hill climbs.
In the US, there are a number of racing bodies, which cover everything from desert races to hill climbs and stadium races.
In the UK, SCORE promote buggy racing, and recently, buggies have been entered in rallycross, and supermoto events.

"Can I build and sell Rorty buggies commercially if I buy the Manual?"
Purchasing a Rorty Manual allows you to build one Rorty buggy (either partial or complete). If you want to sell your Rorty buggy, that is entirely up to you. If, after you build one, and you want to build more, you are required to either purchase another Rorty Manual for each and every one you build (either partial or complete), or you can apply for a builder's discount licence.
Drop me an email and we can discuss your proposal.

"Can I sell or pass on my Rorty Manual to someone else after I've built my own?"
Absolutely not! After you've built your Rorty buggy from your Manual, another Rorty buggy cannot be built from those plans.
Each additional buggy requires the purchase of another Rorty Manual, complete with its unique serial number.
Build support will only be available to the original purchaser with their unique serial number.

"Can I hire out my Rorty buggy for others to drive?"

No. Rorty buggies are not for hire or reward. Of course, the original purchaser can sell outright, his/her Rorty buggy at any time he/she chooses.

"I use CAD at work, can I get copies of the actual CAD drawings?"
No. If I were to release the original CAD drawings, I might as well hand over the rest of my business and the keys to my house and car too!
(However, if you would like to commission a custom design, then the resultant CAD drawings would become your property to do with as you wish.)
