In the dusty conditions normally experienced in Australia, standing starts are avoided because of the danger of one buggy running into the rear of one in front. Rolling starts commence at the end of the obligatory warm-up lap.
  The first corner is usually fairly hectic as cars jostle for the best line.
Even the oldies get a bit of air.
The V-4 two-smoke engine of the RZ500 has a very distinctive whine at full noise.

The scream of half a dozen 1100cc and 1300cc engines off the start line has to be heard to be appreciated.
